The following scholarships are available to IRO members for the 2023-2024 academic year:
**Note: You can and should apply for scholarships BEFORE being accepted to a conference roster. All scholarships will be valid for the entirety of the academic year and may be used towards any IRO conference this year!
Kevin Kraef Scholarship This $300 scholarship will be open in the spring and is available to anyone who has won a sim award since election of this year’s current E-board. This scholarship includes the conference fee along with a $150 credit to cover expenses incurred while at a conference, such as food. You can apply through this form. This scholarship is provided by Kevin Kraef, who was a member of IRO from 2018 to 2022, and served as Vice President of Finance and Operations in 2021 and Vice President of Conference Preparation from 2021-2022.
Tom Nally Scholarship This scholarship of $150 is intended to help a member who has dedicated significant time and energy to IRO attend a conference. You can apply through this form. All responses will be made anonymous before decisions are made in a closed E-Board meeting. Please contact Cassidy if you have questions or concerns. This scholarship was donated by Tom Nally, who was a member of IRO from 2008-2012 and President from 2010-2012.
Neal Adams Scholarships 8 scholarships of $50 are available for members who are attending their very first conference. This scholarship will be automatically applied to members attending their first conference. Please contact Cassidy if you have questions or concerns. These scholarship were donated by Neal Adams, who was a member of IRO from 2016-2019 and Vice President of Membership in 2018-2019.
Michael Metiva Scholarships This scholarship of $100 is available to a member of IRO in need of assistance who has not been to many conferences in the past year. This scholarship will be available for every conference this year, including those in the spring. To apply, you must be on a conference roster, and then you will have access to the form for the scholarship. Michael Metiva was in IRO from 2015 until 2017, and served as the Vice President of Finance for the 2016-2017 school year. Please contact Cassidy if you have any questions or concerns.
MSUMUN Subsidy A subsidy that is available to dues-paying members of IRO that are also staffers in good standing with MSUMUN. Currently, the annual subsidy is set at $50. To be eligible, a member must pay IRO membership dues, attend at least one conference, and maintain 80% attendance within MSUMUN.
2023-24 Concessions Scholarships For each shift completed, members can receive $25 off of conference dues. Please contact Cassidy for more information.
