Here are the Minutes for 1-20-14
Chris started us off by announcing that there would be no meeting on 1-27-14 as it will be the Monday after McMUN.
Next we went back over the room placements and addressed the few changes that E-Board made to them. Chris also went over the McMUN Bar Crawl rules. It will be a competition between the seniors and everyone else! There are competitive challenges and single dares that each team must accomplish. Who will come out on top?
Corey from MSUMUN gave us an update on the current affairs of MSUMUN. Thanked everyone for their recent simulation participation.
Kelsey presented her slide show for the IRO party themes! There was Flannels and Handles, Monochrome, Guys in Ties and Girls in Pearls, and finally The Old Gods! After a pro speech for each theme, we voted and Guys in Ties and Girls in Pearls won! The Party will be the Friday after McMun.
Peter started his Conprep activity, inviting our very own Matt Suandi up to present his crisis over the Senkaku Islands.
Peter used this presentation as a basis for a resolution writing activity.

We started with Kory discussing recent MSUMUN events. Changing place for Sec meetings, Thanks for attendance of MSUMUN-IRO sim.
Chris talks about IDinnery that will be attended on Thursday 1-16-14, which was changed. Hotel for McMun announcement.
Kelsey went over the McMun shirt orders.
Kelsey presented a new powerpoint about dress for McMun. Mens – matching socks, ties or bowties, tuck in shirts, dress shoes. No leggings, no tank tops with bra straps, no cotton pencil skirts, no boots or dagger heels.
Peter began sim review, everyone did a lot better. Requests people to keep up their fighting spirit.
Explained Important Questions – elections, decisions of peace, admissions of new members, operation of trusteeship, budget. Requires 2/3rds majority.
Erin Wenk presented her crisis of the week on The Sea Shepherds whom protect aquatic life against abuse by organization across the world. They have causes governments to start making anti-whaling law. While Japan has begun making anti-Sea Shepherd laws, arrested one captain of Sea Shepherds.

Hey everyone, here’s what happened at the meeting on November 11th!
In case you didn’t realize, we leave for Philly on Wednesday! Make sure you’re at North Case Hall by 8:30, or we’ll leave without you!
Next, we heard some exciting news regarding McMUN! Sign ups will be at our next meeting, on November 25th, and the Conference takes place January 24th-26th. A few other important dates are the simulation on January 12th from 1-6pm, the idinnerary on January 17th. The first payment will be due on December 2nd!
Peter then presented the Crisis of the Day, followed by an awesome ConPrep Activity.
Sam shared some exciting news: We received more money from some Campus Hall Governments! $300 from Rather Hall, and $270 from Holmes Hall! This is great not only because we love getting money, and it makes conference fees smaller for you!
MSUMUN’s Chief of Staff, Kory Miller, then informed the membership about the upcoming Secretariat meeting, where new amendments will be voted on. Also, Committee Rough Drafts are due by November 27th!
We then heard from Courtney, who announced her new AVPs, Caroline Sanders and Didi Bibi! Wahoo!
Kelsey filled everyone in on our upcoming social event, which will be on Friday, November 22nd! Keep an eye on your email for more information. Also, IRO is doing Secret Santa this year! Sign ups for that will be at our next meeting on November 25th!
